HUBUNGAN DUKUNGAN NENEK (MATERNAL GRANDMOTHER) DENGAN KESIAPAN IBU NIFAS PRIMIPARA PADA PERIODE 7 HARI PERTAMA DI PUSKESMAS SUMBERSARI KECAMATAN ROWOKANGKUNG

Abstract

The postpartum period is a time of physical and psychological adaptation for mothers after childbirth, especially for primiparous mothers who have no prior experience in caring for themselves and their newborns. During the first seven days postpartum, primiparous mothers require support from their families, particularly from maternal grandmothers, to enhance their readiness to undergo the postpartum period. The purpose of this study was to analyze the correlation between maternal grandmother support and the readiness of primiparous postpartum mothers during the first seven days postpartum at Sumbersari Community Health Center, Rowokangkung. This study employed a correlational research design with a cross-sectional approach. The population and sample consisted of all primiparous postpartum mothers during the first seven days postpartum in the working area of Sumbersari Community Health Center, totaling 32 respondents selected using a total sampling technique. The instruments used in this study were a maternal grandmother support questionnaire and a postpartum readiness questionnaire. The results of the Spearman's rho statistical test showed a p-value of 0.000 with α = 0.05. Since the significance value was less than α, H₀ was rejected and H₁ was accepted, indicating a significant correlation between maternal grandmother support and the readiness of primiparous postpartum mothers during the first seven days postpartum at Sumbersari Community Health Center, Rowokangkung. Therefore, readers, are expected to implement and support the role of the family, especially grandmother, in providing emotional support, information, and practical assistance to first-time mothers during the postpartum period, thereby improving the mothers' readiness to care for their infants
