Abstract

Anemia among adolescent girls is a health issue requiring attention, as it can impair growth, academic concentration, and reproductive health, while also increasing the future risk of stunting. This intiative aimed to enhance adolescent girls knowledge regarding anemia prevention through health education and hemoglobin (Hb) level screening, in support of the Madura Zero Stunting program. The activity involved 298 adolescent girls from various schools in the Madura region. Implementation included health education, pre and post-test, Hb level screening and the distribution of iron-folic acid (blood-boosting) tablets. Results demonstrated a significant increase in knowledge, with the average score rising from 52,97 to 86,37 (Wilcoxon test, p=0,000). Following the education session 96% of participant demonstrated a good level of knowledge. Hb screening revealed that 83,4% of participants fell into the normal category, while 8,8% had mild anemia and 7,8% had moderate anemia. Health education proved effective in increasing knowledge and should be continued ti support the prevention of anemia and stunting.
